This past Sunday was a dinner with Friends (same people from the Great Bay post.) We had Chicken baked in mariana sauce and mozzarella cheese and accompanied with grilled corn and asparagus. It was a great meal (and I had asparagus for the first time.) Dinner likes this are always great. Is it my turn next?
I brought dessert. I went with something different than cupcakes. I made one of my favorites. My choice was blondie sundaes. The blondies were filled with white chocolate and pecans. They were topped with vanilla ice cream and a homeade maple butter sauce (served warm). That sauce has to be my favorite sauce. It is a perfect complement with the blondies. I think it went well. I'll have to make them again soon.
This is Matt as he finishes his sundae. I think he enjoyed it. I left the leftovers with him. He also supplied the vanilla ice cream (Blue Bell.) He also was responsible for cooking dinner.

I would love to be able to find coordinated time with my friends to do a dinner night! It sounds like you guys had a great time. Dessert, as usual, looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteWe all work together so we pretty much have the same schedule. Plus, we all live within 3-4 minutes of each other. Fun times :)
DeleteAsparagus is one of my favorite vegetables!! I can't believe you have never had it before!!!
ReplyDeleteMy philosophy is if it is green and grows, I typically do not eat it. I working my may out. (I do love spinach and herbs)
DeleteYummmmm... blondies!!! My husband made a batch for the PTO at his school (he cooks in our house, I eat) and I wanted to cry when he said they weren't for me! :-D I love the pictures you post on your blog - they're all the joys of sweets without the calories of eating them!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Now if I could find a way to bake, taste, and eat without the calories of eating them. Splenda is not the way to go.
Delete(I love blondies too. I would have been sad not to have gotten any.)
Wow... what a meal! I knew you could bake, but I didn't know Matt could cook. I imagine everything was awesome and dessert just topped it off! Blondie sundaes sound amazing; let me know if you ever figure out a way to eliminate the calories. :)
